Great work!!!

I keep thinking for D-Star, 440 can and should be "primary"- the argument
"more hams have 2 meter equipment" is today not true and will likely never
be true for D-Star

I think linking systems esp non- Internet would be a nice project now- we
have these calls for the hospital network in Central MN - can we link some
systems together to provide seamless mid-State voice and data coverage on
440? There are absolutely no 2 meter repeater pairs available -Maybe the
primary system-system link is Internet but there is a backup radio link?

Duluth-Hinkley-Forreston-Cambridge-St. Cloud? Kind of a Ham radio version
of Apco25?

Erik

I guess nobody ever posted this detail to the list so here it is...

Last Thursday, a d-star system was installed at a good site in the West
Metro.

It's sponsored by Greg Kitchak, N0GEF.
It's call is K0FVF.

As for my project; it's still at my home tower in Bloomington.

I'm still waiting for my RP2D to arrive.

I have my 1.2g antenna, feedline, and thanks to Greg a tower side-arm.
As soon as the weather is nice again, I hope to get this antenna
installed on my tower. The feedline won't be wonderful (1/2" heliax)
and it won't be as far up as my UHF and VHF stuff but it should provide
for something we can play with anyway.

When the antenna is installed, I'll see about borrowing an RP2D from a
friend until mine finally arrives.

I'll update the list when I have an RP2D to point at.
