[d-star] More Systems- 145.25

Paul and I had a plan to grab 145.25 for D-Star, as it is useless in most
places for FM due to cable TV interference. We also wanted to share it
widely, so the organizations that got it would not be tempted to lock
everybody out for 125 miles. The idea is it would become the "SNP" for
D-Star. Not sure we can pull that off any more. We also wanted to hold it
for the best possible sites - so it does not end up in a low backyard site
forever. Doug seem to think we can possibly share very close channels
around 145.25 - like 145.24 with D-Star

Greg may already have a local repeater pair to use.
Obviously I'm not in favor of moving D-STAR onto the packet channels as
indicated in the ICOM discussion groups. Using the even frequencies
between the packet channels might work, but using the even channels
between voice repeaters in the 145 range has as much merit. Another
option is to try inverted split between channels. But what we need is to
experiment some and find out what the interference problems really are.

73, Doug.
